Alex Knight

I suppose this is where I tell you about how my grandfather gifted his camera to me when I was a little boy or how much I love coffee and travel. I'll spare you the cliché story and tell you about where photography has taken me.

Aside from shooting weddings, I use photography not only as a form of artistic expression but also a way to change the world for the better. Twice a year I head down to Haiti to take pictures of kids for an amazing organization called Hand in Hand for Haiti. HIHH built a school for the poorest kids in the country after the 2010 earthquake. The photos are sold at auction and help raise money for the organization.

These are my passion projects.

Here in my hometown of NYC I am constantly working on other creative projects. This is from a series of photos I did for a fashion show at the Jacob Javits Center. We dipped flowers into liquid nitrogen so they would freeze solid and then we smashed them together to get this explosive effect. The photos were used as key-art for the show.

My most vital piece of gear is not my camera but my imagination.
